Marta Liébana Martínez was born in 1985 in Madrid. She began her Piano studies at the Professional Conservatory of Music in Getafe, Madrid, when she was 9 years old. Her teachers were Áurea Pina, Luis Noaín and Luis Calderón.


When she finished the Elemental and Medium Grades, she was accepted at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid to continue her studies with Almudena Cano. There she specialized in Vocal Accompaniment with Juan Antonio Álvarez Parejo.


In 2006 she was admitted in Sibelius Academy to finish the Bachelor in Helsinki, Finland, with Annikka Konttori-Gustafsson.


She has received piano lessons from: Boris Berman, Evgeni Koroliov, Eldar Nebolsin, Alexander Kandelaki, Claudio Martínez-Mehner, Ilmo Ranta, Vladimir Tropp, Naum Grubert, Willem Brons, …

She won the First Prize in Piano and Chamber Music at “Intercentros Competition” sponsored by Hazen in 2002, and she got also First Prize and Special Prize to the best Spanish Music performance in La Línea de la Concepción, Cádiz, in 2005.


She worked as pianist in the musical “Víctor Victoria” in 2006 at the Coliseum Theater in Madrid.

In October 2009 she played with Marjana Butko for the presentation of Paul Witteman’s new book.

This year she has won the Audience Prize of the Grachten Festival Concours in Holland.

She just finished her Master Degree with David Kuyken in Amsterdam where she is not only performing as a soloist but also with singers and chamber music groups.
